Yoga and the Subtle Body is an approach to well-being that is aimed at setting ourselves free of habitual patterns – even long-held physical, mental and emotional limitations.

This seminar integrates InnerSky core Yoga practices with a system of Tibetan Buddhist breath and awareness principles in which the roots of the patterns are found through recognizing imbalances in the subtle body – the life-energy system that we rarely acknowledge yet powerfully affects every moment of our lives. The key principles, Yoga techniques and subtle body Buddhist practices rely on you, the practitioner, being willing – with kindness, humor and patience – to reveal to yourself, warmly embrace and gently unlock your self-created negative emotional states. Whether patterns of fear, anxiety, anger, jealousy, despair or other afflictions, through learning this methodology we can remain open and present to ourselves and access spacious freedom of body, mind and heart anywhere, anytime.

The Buddhist teachings and methods are adapted from Tsoknyi Rinpoche's excellent book, "Open Heart, Open Mind" – recommended reading for this seminar.

In this training you will:

  • Study Tibetan principles of the subtle body and discover its pervasive influence on your thoughts, emotions and quality of life.
  • Develop keener insight into the various ways you clench, react, avoid and shut down your own life process on a daily basis.
  • Learn Tibetan Buddhist "vase breathing" to re-root your energy in the deep core of your body and embody greater freedom.
  • Examine core yoga practices for the body as mindfulness, spacious attention and relaxed insight.
  • Recognize negative habits sooner, learning to respond to with kindness and compassion when habits are triggered.
  • Practice Buddhist, subtle body balancing techniques to release painful constrictions in body, heart and mind, transforming obstacles into fresh, spacious awareness.
